Vchitram.in exclusively presents Idhu Karthirvelan Kadhal Movie Review. Directed by Sundarapandian director SR Prabhakaran IKK also marks the second movie of producer turned actor Udhayanidhi Stalin.

Final Verdict: Worth watching bundle of emotions this Valentines Day…

Story:
Unlike its title Idhu Kathirvelan Kadhal revolves around Kathirvelan’s family drama behind his love for beautiful girls. Inspite of being a loyal Hanuman devotee, Kathirvelan is passive about girls around him until his sister [Chaya Singh] reverts from her husband’s house. Inorder to sort her sister’s problem, Kathirvelan heads to his Uncle’s place, where he falls for Parvathi [Nayantara]. Kathirvelan’s father played by Attakathi Naren adverts their love. What happens next? How will Kathirvelan solve his sister’s problem? Forms the crux of IKK…

Performance:
Udhayanidhi Stalin has excelled with his performance. With no comparison to his debut Oru Kal Oru Kannadi, Udhay has done every scene to excllent especially he has improved his dance skills.
Nayantara steals the show with her beautiful smile and act, whenever she appears on-screen. She sans glamour and her costumes are worth mentioning.
Santhanam has to be appreciated for bringing the difference in his act. Though he plays hero’s friend as ever, his role perfectly blends in IKK script and brings the house down with his enjoyable one-liners.
Jayaprakash has Nayantara’s father did his parts well, so as Saranya Ponvannan as Udhay’s mother and Attakathi Naren in limited roles.

Technical Analysis:
SR Prabhakaran has proved his hands on entertaining audiences. His only motto is contemplating viewers with his engaging screenplay though his script is wafer-thin. Dialogues are the highlights of IKK.
Harris Jayaraj’s music and background scores keep hook to the play. He also makes a cameo appearance in ‘Pallaaku Devadhaiye’.
Balasubramaniem camera works are laudable, few scenes such as Nayan’s image reflection on Udhayanidhi’s eyes are prolific.

Analysis:
Midst of many rom-coms and family dramas in Kollywood, SR Prabhakaran’s Idhu Kathirvelan Kadhal is the mix of comedy and romance with family drama. IKK is a complete entertainer both for youngsters and family which travels straight to audiences with no divertion. Some songs played speed breakers, few frames appears to be dragging at places and dialogues.

Above all Idhu kathirvelan Kadhal is more a feel-good family drama than Kathirvelan’s Kadhal. First half of the film is passable as director has strived to plot all the characters for the complete package in the second half and appreciable climax.
