‘Basanti’ comes with a backdrop of a director who has proved honest and upright with his first film ‘Banam’ with the Nara scion Rohit. Chaitanya Danthuluri has made his intentions very clear with his first move or movie that he is here to change the way films are made, not caring the commercial aspects of it. After the first movie got fantastic critical acclaim, he is now taking it on himself by producing the second film himself.

‘Basanti’ has Brahmanandam’s son Gautham and a newbie Alisha Begum in the lead roles. It has Mani Sharma’s music and the value add is quite refreshingly obvious. The trailer, the tracks, the visuals go matching each other byte by byte and together as a package promise a terrific and terrifying tale of tender love in the backdrop of terrorism.

Even the promotional campaign has been designed with a purpose and the Dad Brahmanandam looks to have used his reach to good effect. For the past couple of weeks, Team Basanti has been roping in who’s who of Tollywood launch a trailer, a teaser or the audio itself. The names include Mahesh, Pawan Kalyan, NTR, Prabhas, Bunny and directors like Raja Mouli, VV Vinayak, Surender Reddy, Srinu Vaitla etc, helping the campaign a good reach to the public.

The movie is all set for a March release and might just be the first ‘Honest Success’ TFI is longing to have for a long time.
